Every year, on first of March, the Romanians, Bulgarians, Moldavians, Macedonians and other eastern European cultures are celebrating spring arrival by offering “martisoare” to friends, family and loved ones. The word Mărțișor is the diminutive of marț, the old folk name for March and thus literally means “little March”.
In our days, and especially in urban areas, the Mărțișor became more a symbol of friendship, love, appreciation and respect. The white and red threads are made from delicate wool strings and twist it into thousands of tassels.
This traditional handmade Martenitsa/ Martisor/ Martaki / Martenici. Will ship with red and white thread -so it may differ on different orders- with a safety pin and individual gifting box.
